Animated Banner for Purse Store

Creating an animated gif banner
Start by creating a new file of banner size. Fill the background with blue color.
Create a rectangular selection using rectangular marquee tool.
Press Q to enable quick mask. From filter menu select distort>>glass. Apply settings as shown.
Press Q to disable quick mask. Create a new layer and fill the selection with white color.
Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Insert a product image and place over this rectangle.
Similarly create more rectangle and place images over them.
Insert company logo and place on the left.
Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool. Press Ctrl+T and rotate it.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Type details on the rectangle. Use different layers for different lines of text.
Open animation window. For the first frame hide all rectangles and images.
Duplicate frame. Unhide first rectangle.
Duplicate frame. Unhide first product image.
Similarly create duplicate frames and keep unhiding rectangles and images.
For 8th frame keep the rotated rectangle layer and the respective text layer partially visible from the right edge of the banner.
Duplicate frame. Move these layers inwards.
Duplicate frame. Hide the first detail layer and unhide the second one.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to save an optimized animated GIF.

XP Style Help Icon

Creating Windows XP style icon for help
Create a rounded rectangle using rounded rectangle shape tool.
Enable subtract form shape area form the top bar. Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool near the bottom of the rounded rectangle.
Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select perspective. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.
Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select warp. Adjust nodes of the bottom side to get the curved shape as shown.
Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Duplicate layer. Remove layer style. Enable subtract form shape area form the top bar. Create a shape as shown in the image below.
Create an ellipse using elliptical shape tool. Rotate a bit so that it looks like an exclamation sign.
Repeat above mentioned steps for circle layer too.
Double click the gray shape layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
Using pen tool create thin shapes to add highlight to the icon.
Select the upper part layer of icon. Ctrl+Click the layer thumbnail to get the selection. Create a new layer. apply white to black gradient in this layer. repeat steps for circle too.
Change layer mode to screen.
Select eraser tool and using a feathered brush setting erase the left portion of this layer.
Select and merge all layers. Scale down to icon size. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.

Black Hole Text Effect

Black Hole Text Effect

Start by typing the text on a black background. Duplicate the layer and hide it.

Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the settings shown.
From layer palette reduce the fill value for the text layer to 0.
From layer menu select layer style>>create layers. Select and merge resulting layers. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Apply settings as shown.
From filter menu select artistic>>plastic wrap. Apply settings as shown.
Duplicate the layer and change the layer mode to linear burn.
Duplicate the layer twice and move one instance upwards by few pixels and other downwards by few pixels.
Unhide the original text layer that we kept hidden in the first step.
